The challenge

A design‑forward, motion graphics driven 30-second spot for a Chicago Bulls campaign, cut down to 15 and 6 seconds. With a tighter budget and a shorter timeline, building from scratch would not have been possible. A template would carry it, and despite massaging an intricate After Effects build, we delivered on time and under budget.

The craft

This was before AI, so the right answer was to buy the template and own it: half a day to get the complexity running, then the creative and the finishing both done with one pair of hands. Upcycling a mastered project rather than starting over is the move that made the budget work, and working straight with the creative director meant almost no sign‑offs to route it through.

You have to know how to break apart a mastered project. Sometimes the mixed audio has to come back unmixed and be remastered against a fresh cut. We delivered well before the deadline and under budget.

Six months with that creative director, and this was the piece that set the working rhythm for the rest of it.

The deliverables

The social spot for the Bulls campaign in all three lengths, in early and under budget: a three‑peat of its own.
